Life Harvest

September brings with it the season of harvest. Seeds planted in faith months ago, nourished by rain and sun, strengthened by hail and heat, finally bear fruit. In growing a garden we learn many life lessons. Often inexplicably, some plants (like my potato vine) thrive under less-than-favorable conditions, while others, in what might seem to be the best growing environment, droop and wither. Some seasons, we reap a beautiful and bountiful harvest. While at other times, we might feel a little droopy and withered like we will never bloom again.

Despite all that is disheartening and downright discouraging in life, we can choose each day to do our best to thrive. A favorite quote of mine by an unknown author states, “If you feel like giving up, remember why you held on for so long in the first place.”

Hold on, dear friend. Whatever the harvest, choose to bless it with your love.
